4.3.5. Case of a butterfly valve

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
Bosch Jetronic system
2. To remove the air stream measuring instrument.
3. To remove an accelerator cable from the drive of a butterfly valve.
4. To merge cooling liquid or to press hoses with cooling liquid about the case.
5. To remove the multicontact socket.
6. To weaken collars and to remove a plastic pipe.
7. To remove a hose of cooling liquid (A), a vacuum hose (V) and a hose of ventilation of a case (C).
8. To unscrew bolts of fastening and to remove the case of a butterfly valve.
Bosch LU2 Jetronic system
9. To remove the socket from the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve.
10. To weaken a collar and to remove the air route from a forward part of the case of a butterfly valve.
11. To remove an accelerator cable.
12. To remove a vacuum hose and a hose of ventilation of a case of the engine.
13. To unscrew three bolts and to remove the case of a butterfly valve.
Bosch Motronic system
14. To weaken a collar and to remove an air supply pipe.
15. To remove an accelerator cable from a cam of management of a butterfly valve.
16. To remove sockets from the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve, an element of heating and the sensor of air temperature.
17. To unscrew three bolts and to remove the case of a butterfly valve from an inlet collector together with laying of round section which needs to be replaced.
Magneti Marelli 8P system
18. To remove the air filter.
19. To remove an accelerator cable from a cam of management of a butterfly valve.
20. To remove sockets from the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve, an element of heating, the sensor of air temperature and the engine of management of the idling mode.
21. To remove a vacuum hose and a hose of ventilation of a case of the engine.

22. To unscrew three bolts and to remove the case of a butterfly valve from an inlet collector together with laying of round section which needs to be replaced.


Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Installation is made in the sequence of the return to removal, at the same time it is necessary to consider:
      – always to use only a new sealing ring which is established on the collector then accurately to install the case of a butterfly valve;
      – to check correctness of installation of earlier removed hoses;
      – to check correctness of installation of earlier removed sockets;
      – to establish an accelerator cable.

ELECTRONIC CONTROL DEVICE

Except for the Bosch L3.1-Jetronic system, the electronic control device is located behind a partition of a motor compartment on the left side.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. To remove the protection cover from a partition of a motor compartment.
3. To disconnect a bracket and to remove the socket from the electronic control device.
4. To unscrew bolts of fastening of the ECU case and to remove it. On some models, perhaps, it will be required to disconnect a weight wire.
5. Installation is made in the sequence of the return to removal.
