2.4.1. Replacement of engine oil and filter

PETROL ENGINES

Frequent replacement of engine oil and replacement of the filter – the most important part of service. At old engine oil there are dissolved particles and pollution that results in premature wear of the engine.

Before replacement of oil it is necessary to warm up the engine up to the working temperature as it considerably increases the fluidity of oil and promotes full removal of old oil from the engine. At plum of oil to be careful as the following oil has high temperature.
Prevention

On models since 1994 the specified interval for this procedure – 15 000 km or 12 months.

For unscrewing of a drain stopper of the pallet it is necessary to use a square wrench with the party of a square of 8 mm.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To install the car so that the drain stopper was in the lowermost point.
2. To weaken a drain stopper approximately on a half of a turn, to place a container for the merged oil under a drain stopper, then to unscrew a stopper completely.
3. To give the chance some time to flow down to the fulfilled engine oil. In process of oil running off gradually to move a container to an oil stream.
4. To clear a drain stopper a pure rag. To remove old ring consolidation from a stopper and to establish new. To clear a stopper installation site on the pallet.
5. For replacement of the filter to install a container under an oil filter which is located on the forward party of the block of cylinders below a final collector.
6. A special key for an oil filter to unscrew the used filter.
7. To clear the surface of connection, to oil fresh rubber laying and to screw in the new filter.
8. To Dovintit the filter a hand (according to the instruction for its installation attached to the filter).
9. To fill in fresh oil, observing its correct level.
10. To start the engine and to allow to work several minutes then to check leaks around an oil filter and a drain stopper of the pallet.

Prevention

After start of the engine the control bulb of pressure of oil will burn some time until the pump pumps fresh oil to the highway.


11. To switch off the engine and to wait several minutes that engine oil flew down in the pallet then repeatedly to measure the level of oil and, if necessary, to add oil.

DIESEL ENGINES

Check of level

Level of oil it is necessary to check each 500 km of a run, and also before each trip for long distance. The car has to stand on the flat place, the engine has to be cold or, at least, not work several minutes.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To take and wipe dry the index of level of oil.
2. To insert the index against the stop, to take it and to read oil level.
3. If necessary it is necessary to add oil so that not to exceed the maximum level.

Prevention

The stopper of a jellied mouth for oil in the middle has an opening for the index and provides its correct situation. This stopper is fixed by two elastic captures.


Oil replacement

Replacement of oil is made when the engine warm. The first time oil is replaced after the run from 1500 to 2500 km, the second – after the run of 10000 km, the subsequent replacements – each 10000 km.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To turn off a stopper (V) discharge of oil (a square the party of 8 mm) and to merge oil (F – an oil filter).
2. To twirl an oil discharge stopper, having put new laying. This stopper needs to be twirled as appropriate, without using big force.
3. To fill in fresh oil so that not to exceed the maximum level on the index of level of oil.

Replacement of an oil filter

The first time an oil filter is replaced after the run from 1500 to 2500 km, the second – after the run of 10000 km, the subsequent replacements – each 20000 km.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. A special key for an oil filter to unscrew the used filter.
2. To clear the surface of connection, to cover with oil rubber laying and to twist the new filter.
3. To screw up the filter a hand (according to the instruction for its installation attached to the filter).
4. To fill in fresh oil, observing its correct level.
