12.5. Replacement of back brake shoes on disk brakes

Prevention

Surely you make replacement of all blocks on one axis of the car even if the limit of wear was reached by one block.

At installation of brake shoes it is necessary to use a new top bolt of fastening of the directing finger.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To lift a back part of the car and to record on supports.
2. To remove back wheels.
3. To disconnect a cable of the emergency brake from a control lever on a support.
4. To unscrew the top bolt of fastening of the lower directing finger. At the same time for deduction of the directing finger from a provorachivaniye to use a thin wrench. For fastening of the directing finger to use only a new bolt.
5. To turn a support down on the directing finger, at the same time to watch a tension of a brake hose.
6. To take brake shoes from a support.
7. To measure thickness of an overlay of each brake shoe.
8. If blocks are suitable for further operation, to clear them, using a wire brush and rags.
9. Before installation of blocks to check that the directing plugs easily move in a support and rubber protective covers are not damaged.
10. If new brake shoes are established, using the special tool, to press the piston into a support, at the same time turning it clockwise.
11. To turn the piston so that grooves in the piston were established on the center of a support.
12. At a piston vdviganiye brake fluid is forced out from the brake cylinder in a broad tank. Therefore constantly to watch liquid level in a tank and if necessary to pump out it.
13. At installation of old brake shoes to put them on the former places.
14. To insert brake shoes in the holder of a support.
15. To establish a support on brake shoes.
16. To grease a carving of a bolt of fastening of the directing finger with means against unscrewing (Peugeot recommends Loctite Frenetanch).
17. To press a support that it reached the position, then to screw up a bolt of fastening of the directing finger, tightening it the required moment.
18. To connect a cable of the emergency brake to a support.
19. Several times to press a brake pedal in order that blocks nestled on a disk and repeatedly to check the level of brake fluid in a tank.
20. To perform the same operations on the second back wheel.
21. To establish wheels and to lower the car.
22. To repeatedly check the level of brake fluid.
