Elements of the emergency brake

3 – forward cable,

The cable of the emergency brake consists of 3 parts: a forward part which turns on the adjustment mechanism, the right and left back parts which connect back brakes to the adjustment mechanism on a forward cable. Each part can be removed separately.
FORWARD CABLE OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE
Removal and installation
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. To lift a back part of the car and to record on supports. |
2. Under the car to remove an intermediate link of the exhaust system and a heat-resistant guard. |
3. To weaken a lock-nut, to unscrew a regulator nut as much as possible to weaken a cable of the emergency brake. |
4. To release brackets of fastening of a forward cable under the car, then to disconnect a cable from the right cable in a connector of cables and from a regulator suspension bracket. |
5. Working under the lever of the emergency brake, to disconnect a cable from a plate of installation of the lever. |
6. On models with the ordinary central console to tighten the lever of the emergency brake and to remove finishing of the emergency brake from the top part of the central console. |
7. To remove finishing on the lever of the emergency brake. |
8. On models with the improved central console to remove the central console. |
9. To lift the lever of the emergency brake before the fifth click, for access to the end of a cable. |
10. To advance a cable and to remove from a ledge on the lever. |
11. To extend a cable down through a plate of installation of the lever and to take it from under the car. |
12. Installation is made in the sequence of the return to removal. |
13. To check and if necessary to adjust operation of the emergency brake. |

BACK CABLE OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON DRUM BRAKES
Removal and installation
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. To lift a back part of the car and to record on supports. |
2. Under the car to remove an intermediate link of the exhaust system and a heat-resistant guard. |
3. To weaken a lock-nut on the mechanism of the regulator and to unscrew a regulator nut. |
4. At removal of the left cable to unscrew a regulator nut since the end of the carving plug and to disconnect the end of a cable from a regulator suspension bracket. |
5. At removal of the right cable to disconnect the right cable from a cable in a connector of cables. |
6. To remove the corresponding brake drum. |
7. Using flat-nose pliers, to disconnect the end of a cable of the emergency brake from a control lever on a brake shoe. |

8. To take a cable cover from a brake board. |
9. To exempt on all length a cable from brackets of fastening and to remove from under the car. |
10. Installation is made in the sequence of the return to removal. |
11. To check and if necessary to adjust operation of the emergency brake. |

PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. To lift a back part of the car and to record on supports. |
2. Under the car to remove an intermediate link of the exhaust system and a heat-resistant guard. |
3. To weaken a lock-nut on the mechanism of the regulator and to unscrew a regulator nut. |
4. At removal of the left cable to unscrew a regulator nut since the end of the carving plug and to disconnect the end of a cable from a regulator suspension bracket. |
5. At removal of the right cable to disconnect the right cable from a cable in a connector of cables. |
6. To disconnect a cable from a control lever on a support, then to disconnect a cable cover from a support suspension bracket. |
7. To exempt on all length a cable from brackets of fastening and to remove from under the car. |
8. Installation is made in the sequence of the return to removal. |
9. To check and if necessary to adjust operation of the emergency brake. |
